Written by Jo Hansen

Just occasionally,

There is a flicker,

 A spark

Of a new life.

I dare to allow myself to notice

That skipped beat of my heart

The lungs that seem to swell,

In an unexpected energy surge.

I exhale slowly

And a smile hovers –

Just out of reach,

But I know it’s there.
