Rebuilding

Perhaps we are all broken

One way and another.

Behind our carefully constructed facades

We hide fragility and vulnerability.

Living with uncertainty takes its toll,

Especially when it was not by choice

And encompassed fear and dread.

We have barricaded our true selves

Behind stoicism and tight smiles

The blitz spirit,

Yet at heart we need to rebuild strength

To sustain survival.

Remember this then, as the world turns to a new normal:

Perhaps we are all broken

One way and another.

We need to look out for,

And look after,

Each other.
