Our elders have history,
They lived in a different time
And when we are together I’m glad they did –
For they can give context
To the seemingly strange world we inhabit now
Where right and wrong seem to have got lost somehow.
So this festive season
Give them a voice if you’re able
When they sit at your table,
The living room,
Or on a family ‘Zoom’.
Ask them to tell their tales of old
Sit back and let their stories unfold…
