It’s another Mother’s day
The second one without you here
Time cannot take all pain away
But it blunts the sharpness of the spear.
We’ll take a cup of kindness yet
We’ll climb a hill to see the view
We’ll raise a glass and never forget
All the things that made you, ‘you’.
Quiet courage, love, compassion, care
A love of hills, of surf, of sea
Of always, always ‘being there’
That’s what you always were to me.
So thankyou for those many years
For music, laughter, stories, song.
Yes it’s another Mother’s day
And we’ll shout about you all day long.
