It seems to have come so fast

Is it letting go?

Do you realise how it is?

Your family start arriving from nowhere –

Do you know?

It’s been the elephant in the room –

Sometimes confronted,

Sometimes thwarted,

Sometimes hunted,

And sometimes hedged around

But now I think it’s here.

Yet all, I think, has been said

Over the months and years

All acknowledged
