I wonder when
The world will turn again
In such a way that we can meet
Those we love and greet
Them with a hug and a kiss.
It’s those moments I miss.
I wonder when
The world will turn again
In such a way that we can move through grief.
We mourn losses now, but in near disbelief
At the scale of death, the mountain of change.
It will take time for thoughts and lives to rearrange.
I wonder when
The world will turn again
In such a way we can travel, find
The road to the mountains that in our minds
Has kept us going through the darker days and nights:
A sense of permanence and hope – it will be all right,
Somehow.
I wonder when ….
