Just another lockdown Sunday-
No one can come and play day.
A late start,
Getting lost in craft and art,
Playing the fiddle – Celtic tunes
Tumbling, pouring into the room.
The warm kitchen air hints of coffee
Baking cakes and bread for tea.
Out to walk our woodland path, our holloway
– A chance to talk about things – to say
What’s most important for now;
Just occasionally wondering how
It’s all going to work out …
But trying not to think about
It all too much today –
It’s just another lockdown Sunday.
And as darkness collects in the late afternoon
We’ll find a comfy spot on the sofa to zoom
With family and friends – keeping connected –
We’re determined we aren’t going to be affected
By this virus
We’re trying hard not to let it beat us.
What more is there to say?
It’s just another lockdown Sunday …
