Tapestry – back in limbo land May 2nd

Fascinating – my perception has been that the whole pandemic has been too hard to write about, but I keep finding slips of poems, luckily dated, in sketchbooks or in my work reflective pages. The date is important though as it adds context and perhaps helps us to remember issues and emotions and responses at particular times

The weeks have rolled by

6 th week of lockdown

And there is still capacity in hospitals,

Thank goodness.

But deaths still rise,

Over 20, 000 yesterday

And those are the ones we know about.

People talking of lifting lockdown:

But how?

When?

And exactly how agile do we need to be

With our lives and our workforce

In case it all flared up again?

And how strong do we need to be

To manage Society’s potential dissolution

As the blame game begins.
