Trying to be a 21st Century poet

Trying to become a 21st century poet,

I came away to remote Shetland with ipad,

And iphone

And ‘Pages’

And planned to access the internet

To upload as I wrote …

But no words came.

In this fundamental landscape

None of that works.

It resonates of my working world

Far removed from this one.

I’ve gone back to basics –

Small pad in back pocket

A pen…

And the words flow!
